Firstly I would like to thank Jason for setting the site up, secondly I would like to thank all of you for the wonderful contributions to the site.

To some extent it has broadened my memories of my Mum, who was a unique person in so many ways. Whatever she did she did with unbridled enthusiasm. I notice in the comments  a common thread of days out with picnics. My immediate family and I had a picnic recently, in a situation where it was blowing a gale. As we battled the wind, I thought Mum would have loved the triumph over the elements as we still managed to be fed.

Although for much of our lives we were separated by distance we had a strong bond and now she is gone I miss her very much.
